Edits to tomorrows schedule

Hi everyone,

Due to sickness and absences we will not be working with the WORKHOUSE CHILDREN.      Please do not have them attend.

-We will practice portions of  the scene working specifically with Bumble and Corney, the Sowerberrys and Charlotte and Noah.

There are the only edits I know of so far, as of 5:44 pm.

Families with sickness

There are quite a few strains of sickness going around at this time!

IF YOU ARE SICK OR HAVE COLD/FLU SYMPTOMS IN YOUR HOME, PLEASE CONSIDER WHETHER STUDENTS ARE HEALTHY ENOUGH TO ATTEND PRACTICE WITHOUT THE RISK OF SPREADING IT.

It is better to contact Director Jennie and miss this practice, than to attend not feeling well and get others sick. This eliminates the potential of spreading it, causing others to miss practice in the weeks ahead.

If a fever is or has been a symptom, be sure that it is gone and hasn't come back within 48 hours, AND are feeling much better.

BEFORE ATTENDING PRACTICE ON MONDAY BE SYMPTOM FREE FOR 48 HOURS!

Practice on Feb. 20th

Hi Everyone!

My plans for practice on Feb. 20th are as follows . . . 

~Workhouse Act 1 Scene 1 

~Portions of Fagin's Den scenes 
-Act 1 Scene 2
-Act 2 Scene 1 

~Act 1 Scene 3 (follow up on last weeks practice)

(and small group /individual on volume, character, voice tones and accents) 

Yes, we do need the Workhouse Children & Fagin's Boys! 

Looking forward to our practice! Be memorizing! Be Loud! Come with your accent! I know you can do this!

Check Reimbursement Info.

For those of you in a department or parent job that requires you to make purchases* for our show, we do have Reimbursement Request Forms available to you.

*An example of these purchases would be: bio board supplies, library display supplies, hair/costume items needed in general, bake sale paper products, etc.
(Please personally cover small stuff when possible.) 

Any Reimbursement Forms that total $35 or more, you must have a Director's signature before mailing the form. Thank you!

Please remember that students provide their own basic makeup, socks, and possibly the use of their own shoes, pants etc. or may need to make a second hand store purchase. (H.I.S. Player Handbook page 8)

Workhouse Video

 I found this 5 minute video about Workhouses. It mostly covers two jobs given to those in the Workhouse.
 

The second portion is about the picking oakum -pulling apart ropes (Zeke and Timmy will be doing this at the Workhouse.)

Prop Update!!!

 PLEASE CHECK YOUR ATTICS, BASEMENTS, AND CLOSETS FOR THESE ITEMS! 

Bring them to practice ASAP!

If you have a larger item, text/email Director Jennie a picture for approval before bringing in!!!

Wooden Table (approx. 3 x 4 ft. rectangle)(tall enough to sit at) can be rough (for Fagin’s Den)

2 Small round tables (approx. 3 ft.) (tall enough to sit at) (patio tables? Round card table?)

2 wooden benches (each one to hold 3 small students)

Settee - small sofa or bench that can be made into a padded seat (needs to hold two people)

We had a great practice today! I don't know about you, but time just flew by!!!

As I checked in with various departments, I heard good things were happening! Thank you all, for your time in research, organizing, sorting and all the prep work you are doing!

This week, please really, work your lines! Make time to drill them! Decide what works for you -  is it walking outside? spending time alone? practicing with someone? 

On Monday the 20th - we will have you acting without your script. You will need to say "line" when you need a line read to you. (Be sure to practice lines with a family member, to prepare you for this!)

Practice with your accents!!! Bring them to practice with you!!!

Please note: When I (Director Jennie) am working blocking, I care about your volume, expression, accent, and tone of voice. I really do. However, I am usually unable to stop and have you repeat lines to work these specific areas as my focus is on blocking. (What movement or action happens when you say . . .) This is why we have smaller groups or individuals working with Mr. Caleb and Mrs. Weimer on developing character. As well as the accent help you receive from Brenton. I know it's a lot to remember all at the same time, but I do want to see the results of their working with you while I'm teaching you blocking. You can do it!

I enjoy working with each one of you!

 Let's encourage each other within our families and friendships to be diligent in the roles we've each been given (whether behind set or on stage).
