Reminders!!!

Hi Everyone!
Tomorrow is April 1st! No Joke:) April is the month in which we will perform OLIVER TWIST!!!
We have been working together since the end of January and now we've got to take it to the final stretch!!!
Here are some important thoughts that come to my mind as we ALL head into this fast paced month!!!
~Focus on glorifying God with our thoughts, words, and actions! (at the end of the day - who has been given the glory? you? your friends? or God?)
~Have enthusiastic determination to do a job well done - each practice - each dress rehearsal - and each performance!
~As an actor or actress - BECOME the CHARACTER on stage!

~YOU can honor your fellow team players and adult leaders BY ________? knowing and doing what has been practiced with your directors/support team? by having your dept. prepared early or on time? listening & showing respect?
~Keep a spirit of teamwork and encouragement by praying for God's strength for yourself and the entire cast, crew, and adult leaders!

Many reminders will be communicated now and in the coming weeks- stay on top of your emails, check the blog, LISTEN WELL during practice announcements - and - FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!!!!

-T-shirt Money needs to be brought to practice ($7.00 each, cash or check (made out to H.I.S. Players))

Monday the 27th

On Monday the 27th I will be blocking  -
Act 2 Scene 2 (picking up about where we left off)
Act 2 Scene 3 (we've read through this, but will be blocking for the first time)

Mrs. Weimer and Miss Kristin will be working with those who are not in the above scenes.

As the time allows, we will work character and tightening portions of scenes.

We will not be working with the Workhouse Children or Fagin's Boys. See you all soon!

We must focus on a productive practice, learning the above mentioned scenes as well as tightening and tweaking where needed.
The following weeks we will be running Act 1 (learning set change) and running Act 2. Then dress rehearsals are coming up!

Know your lines, accents, actions, entrances and exits!!!

Arrive early and be ready to roll!

Portrait Painting?

Please contact me if you know of someone who could paint the portrait of Oliver's mother.

Mid to late 1820s painting of a young married English woman.

Photographs of the students who play the son and sister are available in order to create what she'd look like.

Thanks so much!

Practice at Home

Reminder to acting students!

Many of you might feel pretty good at having your lines memorized. That's Great! We are making good progress on the show!

However, keep practicing your lines. It is important that you continue to work them at home with someone reading the cue lines.
Practice each line with the actions, emotion, and accent.

In the next couple weeks, when we run scenes at practices they will start running with less interruptions to prep for dress rehearsals that will lead us to performances! They will defiantly run the smoothest when everyone is prepared with their lines!

Keep up the good work!
